Auger boring is defined as a trenchless application in which a casing pipe is jacked into the earth’s surface while simultaneously rotating helical augers remove the excavated spoil. Auger boring employs a cutting edge attached to the auger within the casing pipe and hydraulic jacks, to rotate and penetrate the soil. So that there is unimpeded rotation within the casing, the auger diameter tends to be slightly less than that of the casing pipe.
This technique offers a high degree of accuracy for line and grade, and is primarily used for the construction of gravity sewers.
Star Trenchless Solutions operate a diverse range of Guided Auger Boring techniques that install pipe diameters ranging from 700mm to 1500mm.
Usually Steel or Concrete jacking pipes are installed. Augerboring offers a highly accurate, cost effective technique with minimal ground settlement.
